Invasion of the "White Ratchets".

ratchetmiley.jpg

Is there a such thing as "acting black" ? Someone would argue that it is impossible to "act" black and their points would be valid...However, modern media has changed this with the invasion of  the infamous "White Ratchets". Over the years, we have watched culture spawned by black people, namely the hip hop culture, go international with explosive growth. This is a great thing ! Mankind thrives on learning and  adapting to the culture of others but this "acting black" thing is different....way different!

"acting" black seems to be more beneficial to these suburban stars that "aint about that life" than it is for actual black people. You know ? The people who created the culture to begin with.

I know you guys heard of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. When I first heard Justin I was like this "lil dude got some soul ! He must have some brotha in him somewhere down the line...grandma had jungle fever or some shxt" I appreciated the growth of such a young talent and I've watched his career soar to new heights and surpassing previous stars such as the Jonas brothers. When Justin started to become "of age" shxt got crazy. His entire image just wen't hip hop. Is he wrong for that ? NO ! He can do what he wants ; it's okay to switch your style up but this is a trend in the industry. Exhibit B...Miley Cyrus another household name whose image slowly went from a wholesome all American girl to a young lady who now probably gets more credit for twerking than the actual Twerk Team. Poor ol' Mizz TwerkSumm probably somewhere looking for a 9 to 5 cause of Miley Cyrus and the ratchet upgrades her black friends installed in her. Don't get me wrong, it's not their actions I'm concerned about, it's the way the media portrays their actions is what concerns me.

I'm not going to drag this out. Concerning the media, "acting" black seems to be more beneficial to these suburban stars that "aint about that life" than it is for actual black people. You know ? The people who created the culture to begin with. I recall a video where kids in a San Diego school being suspended for twerking but Miley Cyrus does it and its like the coolest thing ever. Why is our culture deemed unacceptable when we do it but acceptable for them ? It's almost the same when big lips  & butts amongst other African features were deemed ugly UNTIL J-Lo & Angelina Jolie made big butts and full lips all the rage.

To me these are the methods of a conqueror. That conqueror is the greedy, pervasive machine known as the media. The media can select who can & can not do what they see fit. They make one thing cool for one man and unacceptable for another. These are tactics that have been used since Greece stole the very foundations  of their knowledge from Egypt ; its the same as when Europe thrived off of what was taught to them by the very Africans they later enslaved.  This goes beyond something as basic as racism, this is capitalism at work. What's more profitable than culture ? We eat sleep & breathe culture ! So in order to fully capitalize off of a culture you have to destroy its image (as what was done to hip hop in its origins) and rebuild it to suit the person you want to profit off of it.
