It Ain't Over 'Til The Fat Jinchuuriki Sings: Naruto Chapter 639
Warning: Spoilers ahead...
Naruto 639 begins with Obito blowing the First and Second Hokage apart. The Second Hokage shows off his speed and prowess in his original technique: Impure World Resurrection by using it as a fighting style. He activates the IWR seal that sends thousands of explosive tags that continuously explode directly at Obito, which connects. However, Obito survives this barrage by using his Ten Tails chakra as a shield. The Third Hokage marvels at this technique, which he determines is a shape transformation of chakra that surpasses even Onoki’s Dust Release. He also notes that it uses at least four different chakra natures and can be used offensively or defensively, though the shape can only be maintained for a short period of time. Obito then destroys the Third’s body, and moves towards Naruto and Sasuke. Then Obito’s body suddenly enlarges, the result of him not being used to being a jinnkurichi. Minato takes this opportunity to go on the offensive, as does the First, who is then halted by Madara. Obito surprise attacks Gamabunta, but Sasuke uses his Susano’o to block his attack. Obito then quickly attacks both Naruto and Sasuke as the Fourth prepares his Flying Thunder God Technique to save them.
This chapter overall was rather weak to me. There was action, but it was more so people feeling each other out and not much actual action. It was pretty cool to see the Second Hokage delve into the secrets of Impure World Resurrection. The one thing that stood out to me the most was Sasuke’s dialogue. It’s clear now that he has some sort of ulterior motives that we’ll hopefully see sometime soon. Obito is a boss, point blank. Unless Kishi comes up with something I cannot comprehend, I can’t see anyone defeating him.
Masashi Kishimoto's iconic series Naruto follows the tale of the young unlikely prodigy ninja Naruto Uzumaki and his quest to become the Hokage, essentially the leader and hero of his village. The story is rich with different cultures of other ninja clans and the evil forces that threaten their existence.
